Butcher's Alley - Hero Sign - ArtStation Learning

In early 2022 I had the honour of being asked to be part of Dekogon's next installment of Advanced Environment Art on ArtStation Learning. My chapter focused on Storytelling in Props and creating hero signage for the storefront (which could also be broken down and used in semi-modular parts, too).

My idea was to blend vintage Americana signage with futuristic, sci-fi elements to create something unique that spoke of layers of age and retrofitting. My tutorial featured a chapter specifically on using references to create original concepts, before proceeding on to the 'meat' of the 3D work.
